<image:title>Individual Therapy - How is dreamwork used in therapy?</image:title>
<image:caption>One of many ways to do personal work in therapy is through your dreams. For some people dreams are remembered and create endless fascination. Going into dreams can unlock a secret chamber within ourselves revealing many possibilities for insight and self-acceptance. Fragments of dreams, memories, daydreams, or fantasies can provide the same portals. Images and feelings are the language of the unconscious mind. Our dreambody produces the feelings and perceptions of places filled with people, nature, and things that seem to have a life force of their own. The parts of ourselves that we repress, marginalize, or dissociate, take up residence in that shrouded, mysterious section of the psyche that can’t really be fully contained. The material shows itself in what we project out unto others, or unknowingly berate ourselves with everyday, or compress into our bodies. It also comes out in our dreams. What an opportunity to get a handle on our human multiplicity. Through the process of dreamwork you can unearth the emotional pain you have been unable to fully process in a way that is safely guided. It can help you reframe your experience and provide solutions to problems you’ve been ruminating over. Exploring dreams can bring out new skills in how you approach taking in information, and how you can tolerate not having all the answers. When you dream you can be the witness within the dream and in so doing create an objective stance that can be emmulated in waking life. You are both the one dreaming and the one comprehending the dream. Dreams can help to guide you through the many passages and transformations experienced in a life with greater awareness.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Emotional Bodywork - Other body therapies</image:title>
<image:caption>Working with the emotional body is part of my integrative process of doing psychotherapy. It is supportive and aligned with Psychodynamic therapy. Touch therapies are also available such as Reiki and other body-centered modalities. People who experience touch in their therapeutic work report feeling more care and empathy in the session, and within themselves as they go into their normal life routines. These energy practices are safe and clients are fully clothed. Clients can find new self-regulating resources – safety, resilience, self-care – to enhance the support they are already getting.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Group Therapy - What to expect</image:title>
<image:caption>All group members are treated with respect and understanding. They are given time to settle into the experience without pressure to disclose or speak in the group until they feel safe and ready. As group members begin to risk speaking out freely and openly, it becomes an invitation for other members to share, maybe for the first time in their lives, creating security in a non-judgemental and accepting place. Eventually self-understanding and understanding of others predominates. Group work is generally experiential which brings in expressive and body-centered means to reaching into the stories and deepening the work.</image:caption>
